Tokyo so far - spent the day wandering around Harajuku, with no particular aims. Saw the Meiji Jingu Garden, various streets of Harajuku and ate some fun Japanese food. A man laughed at me when I took a photo of my 7-11 pork bun. Everyone says Tokyo is an expensive place to visit, but in 24 hours I’ve eaten 4 meals for a total of $20 AU.
I knew Japan was a clean and safe place, but I never really expected it to be alarmingly obvious. I saw a lady cleaning the tiled walls of a subway station this morning with a rag and soapy water, so intensely suprising. It is also alarmingly obvious how nice everyone is, it’s crazy/charming.
Now off to see the Tokyo International Forum, the 5 level Muji store and get some more $4.5 ramen for dinner!
